The star trails photograph below was taken from Daniels Summit, Heber City, Utah USA on the 1st July 2007 at 23.07 by Mr P. Randall.
The equipment used was a Canon 300D, ISO 400 set at 1073 seconds, f14. Sigma 18-50mm zoom set at 20mm.
The photograph shows Leo on the right, and Virgo on the left.
- The following photograph of the Small Magellanic Cloud was submitted by society member Mr M. Greenwood, for the March 2007 picture of the month.
The photograph was taken from a location just north of Sydney on 6th of January at around 7:30, using a 50mm lens at f/2.2, and a 30 second exposure at ISO 1600.
- The following picture of M45 was submitted by Matt Greenwood for the November 2006 members picture competition.
The picture was a 15-second exposure at ISO-800, taken using a Canon 400D digital SLR fitted with the standard 18-55mm lens at its widest setting. The camera was mounted on a normal photographic tripod.
- The following photograph was submitted by society member Mr S. Shetliffe, for the September 2006 picture of the month. The photograph was taken on 14th September 2006 from Co Kerry, Republic of Ireland using a Canon 350D Digital SLR camera with an 18-55mm zoom lens set at 18mm and focussed at infinity. The picture was exposed for 57 seconds at F3.5, with the camera mounted on a driven EQ2 equatorial mount.
The image is of the Milky Way passing through Cygnus and is entitled 'Revelation'.
